Unhappy Crashed my Evo

Hey guys, this morning I got in a prang with my Evo 8 that I have only had for a bout a month now
A guy pulled out in front of me, when he couldn't see the road due to a bus, and I hit the back of him.
Unfortunatly even 4wd and Brembos are not enough with about 4-5 meters to stop in the wet.
He has accepted full liability and has insurance but I'm still absolutely gutted. Looks like I'll be driving a loaner car from the repair shop until they can get my baby back on the road.

Front bumper is totalled. needs a complete new one. Actually have a large hole punched in the bumper from his towbar.

Paint damage on the bonnet, but its still in perfect shape, just a bit of paint chipped off to the metal from the bumper coming up.

Looks like something is bent under there cause when I opened the bonnet the latch is very low. Looks like the intercooler is hardup against the radiator fan, which I don't think it should be, so that might be pushed back.

Car is running fine though hopefully its just the bumper and a few very minor brackets bent or something. If the intercooler piping was damaged that would make the car very unstable and it would idle funny right? Car seems like its not boosting as hard maybe? But I'm not 100% I'm not really in the mood to thrash it out and try and see a difference.

Repair shop said it would run into the thousands easy. Lucky its all on the other insurance company. I will talk to the guys and ask them to put all new parts in if anything is bent since its on them my insurance company shouldn't care I don't think.

that sucks i was on the the same boat couple of months ago. Ask the shop you take it to if they dont mind putting an c-west fromt bumber, that would make up for the deductible you gota pay.

Luckily I don't have to pay anything at all. His company will catch everything even the excess.
I'm not too worried about the bumper that can be replaced I'm more worried something will be wrong with it mechinically.... Hopefully the intercooler piping etc... is ok. I can't shake the feeling its just not boosting quite as hard as it should be.

Tell them you need an HKS type R intercooler and do luck bumper, you need more metal for front impact protection...

If the New Zeland bumper is the same as the one we get in the US even a minor impact on the front means your FMIC is probably trashed. For me the Buschur Racing FMIC was the same price as a new stock FMIC from Mitsu, so the shop didn't have a problem with getting the Buschur Racing unit instead of the stock one. Hope your shop is the same way about it.
