Need Help W/ Stealership

ok first off this may be long so i apologize.

about 5 days ago I noticed my driver's rear tire was real low, so I opened the garage and put air into the tire so I can monitor it, I DO NOT use this car as a daily driver , so I did this simply to monitor how long it would take to get low again. 3 days after this approx. friday it was low again so I put air in it again and started inspecting the tire , to my surprise THE INSIDE TREAD WAS GONE! THE ALIGNMENT HAD BEEN OFF ON THIS WHEEL AND MUST HAVE RUBBED ABOUT 1/2 INCH OF THE SURFACE TREAD CREATING A LIP. I immediately caled MMNA and Told them about what is going on . this is significant simply because I had already called them once complaining about Circle Mitsu in long beach, you see 1100 miles ago they rotated the tires and , evidently this wasnt an issue because it wasnt brought to my attention, also I complained to MMNA about grinding and notchyness is the shifting , circle said there were no problems as they were not able to reproduce something that I experience "everyday".

MMNA told me I needed to take it back to Circle simply because they were the last to work on it and it falls under there responsiblity.

I take it to Circle and they try to tell me that I hit something and that it isnt their probem . I freaked out on them simply because the rims are not chewed up from hitting anything with force there is no scarring under the car from hitting something in the road, THEY DECIDED THAT THEY WERE GONNA KEEP IT ALL WEEKEND AND SENT IT OUT FOR ALIGMENT TESTING AND SUSPENSION COMPONENT TESTING. I AM AWAITING A DISTRICT REPS OPINION ON WHETHER MITSU WILL REPLACE THE REAR TIRES OR WHETHER I AM **** OUT OF LUCK.

PLEASE KEEP IN MIND I HAVE A HELIX TB EXHAUST ON THE CAR. ALSO MY CLUTCH IS SLIPPING AFTER 9400 MILES AND ITS MY FAULT BUT THE SYNCHRO PROBLEM ISNT MY FAULT IS THERE ANYWAY TO MAKE THEM FEEL WHAT I AM FEELING? AND IF THEY DO REPLACE THE SYNCHROS WILL THEY REPLACE MY OEM CLUTCH WITH AN ACT FOR A FEE:? HOW MUCH DO YOU THINK THEY WILL CHARGE?

WHAT SHOULD I DO ABOUT THIS SITUATION?

The rear tire is questionable, it sound to me like its their fault but if it was there going to to ask why u didnt notice it before? So be ready to answer that. I give u a 50-50 chance on that. As for the synchros i doube it cuz it probably considered a wear and tear part so it WONT be covered, as for the clutch a buddy of mine got his replaced at the dealership and said it cost somewhere around 800-1500. I dont really remember but that is what ur looking at paying for an oem clutch. My advice on that is buy an aftermarket one and have a shop put it in for u. It will definatly be cheaper. As for the wheel fight it, dont let them win, keep complaining and threating and i think with enought push they will give in but as for the synchros and definatly the clutch dont hold ur breath, be prepared to pick up the tab on that. Best of luck

My clutch went out at 3k miles with the car completely bone stock. It didn't even have tint. They still refused to replace it under warranty. I would try to push to get the tires. Good luck with the syncros. It is a problem that many many many evos have had and I don't think anyone has gotten it replaced under warranty yet. If I am wrong please post up the story on how you or they did it.

all this over a $200 tire. bro i bought a lemon as a last car brand new. knew within a mo. i hated the car. and took 2yrs for the lemon law to reimberse me. I know it sucks. but it really is not worth all your time and effort calling mitsu office. I bet you'll spend more time on that bs. than it would take u to make the 200 at ur job. just part of life. some times ****ty things happen and u just have to take it and let it roll off your back. otherwise you'll get stuck on alot of hangups. Good luck with it though.

How many miles on your tires when you noticed the tread wear problem?

Actually, if I was a service manager and someone came in with a destroyed tire after who knows how many months after it was put on, I would be skeptical too, and would prolly ask the same questions and say the same commetnts as the mitsu person did. Consider yourself lucky that they are actually thinking about replacing the tire. Seems pretty stand-up if you ask me. Synchros are a documented problem, at least for 03's, as is the clutch.

I dont know what the billable hours are for a clutch at a dealer, but prolly somewhere on the order of 8. Dealership will prolly charge somewhere on the order of 80-90 an hour for non-warranty repair...so youre looking at 700 dollar range...ballpark...for installation of a clutch. Tack on a 500 dollar ACT, and youre looking at about 1200 bucks. Again, rough estimate.

As for the synchros, you can get ahold of TRE. They will fix the grinding and build the tranny better than OEM for somewhere on the order of 750 bucks.

So, basically, you might be looking at somewhere close to 2 grand in parts and repair. Sucks, but evos are high maintenance.

it shouldnt matter what it is, even if it is something as little as a lightbulb they should replace it if it is covered underwarrenty

UPDATE:

They Are Telling me that the Driver wheel, will be replaced under warranty for a suspension failure and that I will have to come up with 250$ for the other tire. when I asked why the said because the suspension failure only occured on the driver side. the service manager also told me that my front tires have 3000 miles left on them (these tires have been rotated twice, meaning the tires that are on the front were originally on the front) when I told him i thought it was odd that the tires had developed this problem only after being rotated by them and that its ironic how the fronts have 3000 miles left of tread while both rears are bald he said the district rep only gave him permission to replace 1 tire for no charge because of the suspension failure.

doesnt it strike anybody as odd that that the fronts have 3000 and both rear are bald? if if his theory is correct shouldnt the rear passenger tire have 3000 miles left? this seems correlated and now they are telling me to prove it

any help?

One of the few options from the factory on the Evo is a bad allignment. The service manager told me before I bought the car that it would probably be out of allignment, and it was. I couldnt belive that a car with less than 50 miles was so far out of spec.

Have someone (reputable tire shop) check the alignment of the other tire. If its off, theres youre proof. If not, then youre gonna have to get out youre checkbook.
