Evos Hp

Everyone knows the the EVo 8 has 271 HP and the MR has 276 right? but i was talking to some guy and he said if you take any evo to a dyno it actually dynos at 300 HP. Is that true????

this question is just so dumb I cant even answer it without laughing. 2005's have 276, 2003's and 2004's have 271. None dyno at 300 hp.

I heard the same thing... that the crank HP is under rated...

on a dyno most evos put out 215-230 WHP stock, of course different dyno's = different readings... so the guy may not be on coke... just on a different dyno ..

It could very possibly dyno at 300, just not a stock evo. But then again, I'm guessing you're refering to a factory evo in which case, makes for an amusing flaming topic.

on a out of ground dyno it should be round 210-225, and add 30 hp or so for an inground dyno.

I think what that guy might have heard (and is confused about) is that there have been claims that JDM spec evos have more hp at the crank than they're rated at.

From my previous experience with a european spec Evo 6 RS-2 and now a US spec Evo 8 I think there is something to it - but obviously taking your statement we would be talking 300 at the crank and not at the wheels.
