EVO respect/hate... an interesting afternoon

once i got into town I stopped at a light, in the left hand turning lane. an E36-body style BMW stopped next to me. it had M badges and 3 kids in the car...it was lowered and has clear lenses, tint, etc. First, the passengers start laughing in my direction. Then, the driver throws revs at me. Mind you, we are 3 cars back at a light on a 25mph road AND i'm in the left turn only lane. I usually do my best to just ignore people like this but I laughed, i couldnt help it. He responds by shaking his head as if to say "You don't know who you're messing with"
Fact is, i don't care. Why don't other drivers understand this? If i was impressed by the BMW, i could've bought one. I know he might've been supercharged or turboed, but i doubt it. i just dont get it. LEAVE ME ALONE on the road. I know the wing and tails are an invitation to be an a** to some people.
i just dont get it... it's funny to see the driver of an $84,000+, twin turbo v8, 450 HP car drop respect for a "Rice Rocket" followed almost immediately by some kids in a beat BMW exhibiting a faster-than-god complex.
i really do like the wing on the evo...the tails i'll be changing ASAICAT (as soon as i can afford to)
CLIFF NOTES: Random strangers in an RS6 throw me some compliments on the EVO, 10 minutes later some guys in an older BMW are mocking it.

Yeah I know what you mean -- I had some guy in a truck start reving at me the other night. 3am, no one around and I rev back. Just then my Valentine is going off...I let him take off at the light -- cop pulls him over. I waive as I drive by. Priceless

dude... i don't know too many e36s that blow my doors off in a straight or in the turns... e46 is a different story, but i seriously hate that thing where they think they can "smoke" you just cuz they got an m on the car. i've met ONE e46 m3 driver on the road that actually KNEW what he was doin'... yeah he blew my doors off but he was also heavily modded. half the jackasses in LA with an e46 m3 are just like 99% of the people that own 911 turbos and 360 modenas, jackasses that don't know anything about or know how to drive their cars.

A couple of days ago I was driving around, running some errands. I came an intersection where I had to make a right hand turn. So I slowed down, came to a stop....and noticed some guy in a RSX in the left hand turn lane in front of me was staring at me. As I pulled out and made my turn, he shouted "*****!!" out the window. I have no idea who this guy was, or why he did that. All I can think of is that he is anti-evo.

As others have stated, Buba in his jacked up Silverado 1500 w/ flowmasters always seems to feel the need to show me how much power his beastly V8 has. Most of the time I let them, but occasionally if I am in the right mood, I leave them like they are standing still.......in 1st gear

On my way home from work last night, I came across a PT cruiser thinking he's hot stuff. It was lowered with chrome wheels. It seems that for some reason he had to be ahead of me in the next lane. The same thing happened last week with a Subaru Forester. These encounters just make me laugh, it seems some people are always trying to prove something (to themselves).

I encountered this **** yesterday, i was just heading to blockbuster for a rental and some idiots in a Hcivic Hatchback was reving at me and staring me down , but whatevers i just ignored them and laughed. Yah he can have his b18 or wutevers b2500849 engine and be fast but still his car was ugly Then on my way home 2 guys in a s2000 was driving all fast and cut me off, so i was like whatevers , then when we stopped at a light and they switched back over to one lane besides me and started reving... i was like uh.. there are cars in front of us what do u want to do run our cars into the traffing ahead? What is it about the evo... does it look itimidating or wut, it seems to make ppl press on their gas alot, when they see one. Geee Leave me alone lol.

That sucks about the hater. It does happen though.
It's kinda weird. My evo is my daily driver and I never get revved on or fly-bys or anything like that. After a year of owning it, I think maybe 4 people have actually revved me (that I don't know)

There's going to be a$$ clowns like that where ever you go.
The E36 M3 was a pretty cool car in its day, but now they're a dime a dozen.
I absolutely love mine (getting ready to drop a turbo in it). But find the Evo a hell of a ride as well.
I'm trying to fight the mod bug, but I'm having a hard time...
