Will the jdm evo 8 bumper fit the US model? MY friend who lives in Japan told me he called mitsubishi and asked about the Evo 9 bumper and he said it will be out in April. If both evo 8 rear bumpers are swappable then I think the 9 should fit the US spec Evo 8.

 

The JDM Evo 8 bumper will not clear the US-spec bumper beam and rebar. You must switch to a smaller beam or remove it altogether in order for the JDM bumper to fit.

 

your refering to the rear bumper correct? If I do modify the beam and rebar it should fit perfectly without any gaps?

 

There shouldn't be any gaps. But running without a bumper beam is risky. If you get rear-ended, you're basically replying on the unibody to absorb all the impact force.
