My old review of the manifold...

https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sh...hrome+manifold

I've given up on trying to crack it... keeping in mind I run the OE O2 housing that bolts to the block to help support the turbo/O2 assembly.

I've yet to hear the SS exhaust. I'm a little bitter as part of the design of their TB was my idea (long story)... but if it functions as well as the manifold for me, it should be an ok buy.

I can't start to say how happy I am with the Megan TB that I have... fit, finish, function. If you do a search, you can find the group buy I had going on them in order to ask some of my customers what they think now that they have them bolted up. Of course I sell Megan, but not until after I tried the product for myself.

I'm with Zues on this one. I have a Megan DP, Race cat, and cat back and couldnt be happier. Not one issue. I am looking at their maini and keeping the stock 02 for bracing as well. Zues how long have you been running this set up on yours?

Plok - Pm me about sound etc, I may be able to get you a clip of what mine sounds like.

I forgot when I installed the manifold... I'm guessing since late summer 04'. The TB since early Dec. 04'.

PS It is spelled Z-E-U-S!

I think it comes down to buy one and if it fails then oh well it's not like you dropped $500+. On the other hand if it works for years to come then cool $hit I only paid xxx for it.

SSAUTOCHROME is horrible cracking garbage. those manifolds are welded by 8 year olds in some sweat shop halfway around the world. the metal they use is the most impure crap around. its the scrap from buildings melted down after buildings are built.

Wow, as a vendor you sure could be more professional. Ya know you could be sued for posting that with no proof! Have you been to the "sweat shops" ??? Just curious

uhhh... didn't they say it's robotically welded... i think they have automated cnc type welding facilities in china that china is desperately trying to make utility out of and hence will do all these different things (helix exhausts, these knock off manis, etc etc).

FYI I have proof. I've had 3 manifolds in my shop that people bought on ebay that fell apart. SSAUTOCHROME actually bought a tial 38mm, 40mm, and 46mm wastegate from me to copy from TIAL and then were sued my TIAL and I was in the middle because they purchased them from me. We also do a ton of honda work and parts and we've taken numerous customer cars with their horrible turbo kits/turbos and had to fix things.

and I go to school for economics and politics, I'm pretty familiar with sweat shops, out sourcing etc... i'm not being unprofessional, i'm simply trying to stress how horrible their products are so hopefully no other members are harmed. REMEMBER I HAVE AN EVO TOO AND THAT MAKES ME A MEMBER AS WELL AS VENDOR. I'M NOT TRYING TO SELL ANY PARTS HERE, JUST LOOKING OUT FOR PEOPLE

I'd have some kind of bung welded on if you want to tap a runner for an EGT probe. No way would I just drill and tap the thin-walled runners of a tubular manifold. Your probe would probably only get about 1 or 2 threads of engagement at most. And since NPT threads are flared, you might end up stripping those threads.

oh jebus,

conflicting ideals about this shop...

they said most of that to MEgan racing when they first came out as well, and they were garbage before. they've gotten a lot better now....

i don't know, i tried to called them but their phone was busy... all the time.

They should not be tapped for EGT sensors because the tubing wall is too thin to accept a thread-depth that will hold the sensor well enough. With a tubular header, the best practice is to weld a bung on the tubing for sensor insertion.
