US EVO9 transmition ratio graph
Here is a JPEG picture with ratios comparison between the 5 and 6 speed trainy.
You will see that 2nd and 3rd gears are virtually identical between those two. 1st gear is shorter for 6-speed for some reason, so that one might accelerate out of hole a bit quicker.
4th gears are also pretty close, so it will be hard to see any difference there either.
5 speed 5th gear is somewhere in the middle between the 5th and 6th gear of other trainy. It looks like that at 3500 RPMs there is a difference of 7-8 mph between those two. That seem to be a bit more differences then it was for 2005 models, so 6-speed might be a bit more comfortable at cruising speeds, but still not that much.

Thanks for this....interesting. Since it's difficult to interpolate from your plot would would be the RPM difference at, say, 70 mph cruising speed for the 5 speed and 6 speed IX ?
