the red evos dont have clear coat..its called single stage..you spray your color and thats it..you just add some stuff with the color depending on what kind of paint you have and after you spray it than it stays shiny...but you dont put clear over that

^ i also thought the same thing. i know a guy who shoots paint that does it this way. he hates clearcoat as it is messy and clogs his, if not all, ventilation systems. he explained it to me a long time ago, but as i understand there is a chemical that is mixed with the paint itself in order to still give it a nice gloss. clearcoat isnt there to stop dings, it is more there to make the car look shiny. i have seen multiple cars that this guy has shot, and all of them looked great.

to comment on the "weather sealant" question. if the dealer sold you that option, i'm sorry to say but you got ripped off. there's no such thing as dealer add-on "undercoating" as i believe it's called. your car comes from the factory with all the necessary sealants. undercoating is supposed to be for underbody only, against salt and crap, which was already done in the factory. the only thing the dealer can really do is wax the car and that should be done free of charge even before hand. my car was waxed when i picked it up and the water still beads off after 6 months. no additional charges.
if someone knows better, feel free to correct, but i've read this on a website that tells consumers how to beat the sales ppl at their own game. the article mentioned that the undercoating option is BOGUS.
