New EVO owner! need help!!!
Sorry if I sound desperate! but I been working on the evo since I got it!
I picked up a Evo 8 little over a week ago! and trying to put it back into stock setting!
well, lets just say TurboX dual stage MBC is removed and greddy BOV is gone!
I have stock BOV still hooked up to Injen intake/IC pipe.
I dont know if this is OK or would cause this problem??
pretty much disconnected both hose running into MBC and plugged it into BCS.
hose from the Wastegate is running into inlet (nipple thats in the middle of the BCS) and the other (turbo nipple hose running into the other on the BCS)
since than, I acquired a boost gauge to see what I am running. I am only running 10-12psi of boost! when I hook the MBC back up, I can boost it up to 20PSI but not really driveable like the 10-12psi setting! and it just doesn't sound safe!
I have also come to another conclusion that the stock BOV might be leaking!
I can hear some hissing on the 10-12psi setting!
well, thats pretty much where I am. I am thinking that something isn;t hooked up correctly? If i take it to the dealer, you think they can fix it?
I checked all the connection and made sure they are intacted and on tight everywhere!
Any suggestions are welcome! I am in learning stage and willing to try anything!
Also, if you have stock intake system/i/c pipes, all the stock hoses that goes with it, I am very interested in them!!

To hook back up your stock boost control solenoid here is what to do. The longest line coming out of your boost control solenoid ( can't remember if it is the one with the white stripes or not ) should go out to the turbo nipple and tee off to the wastegate. The other line coming out of the boost control solenoid goes to the nipple on the intake. I think that the injen intake has the nipple for the line, but if it doesn't, just cap the line. Also, some people have had issues when they go from a EBC or MBC back to the stock boost controller, especially when they don't use the same stock vacuum lines. There issues are usually that they can only run 10-11psi. I believe that this is to do with the restrictor pills that are in the stock lines. Anyways, to cure this, just go to your mitsu dealership and order a set of stock boost solenoid lines and hook them up. That should fix it. Hope that this helps. If you have any questions PM me.

is it really that easy? just get the hose from boost source and wastegate nipple, put a tee fitting on it and run it to BCS.
I was told I need to have right hose and stock t fitting with brass (or something) for the BCS to work right and bring the wastegate boost 10-12psi to 19psi which is controlled by BCS to ECU?
if someone actually used non stock hose and regular t fitting and it worked fine, let me know please?

Yes, I have personally and you will actually run a litter higher than stock boost level without the restrictor pills in the lines.
Works fine
I have also heard of people ordering the whole assembly from their dealer for fairly cheap... If you must have the stoick lines with the pills.

digram dont do u any good, if you dont have proper hoses hooked up!
just tried it today!
T-fitting between the wastegate fitting and the turbo nipple!
still same boost! (10-12psi)
just some things to think about!
Boost Control Selinoid- needs proper reading from wastegate hose to send the proper signal to Ecu!
I am thinking that BCS is sensitive just like the OBD2 ECU!
remember, MBC hooked up according to MBC instruction works absolutly fine!
again!
I not boost crazy yet!
just want to make sure it works properly! already have MBC mounted and read, just want to take one step at a time!
If the BCS is bad!
I want to beable to bring it to the dealer for a new one!
thanks for the help!
Nothing to LOL about! just a new evo owner that wants to know more about his own car!

recheck the lines that go to the turbo outlet and the wastegate actuator. i had the same problem last night with only running 10-12lbs of boost. the tube with a red/orange mark should go to the wastegate actuator. you should get your factory boost reading back. good luck.

you can go to autozone and look for the in line vac hose connector with the reducer pill in it. this is roughly the same size as the stock pill, just put it in the hose that runs to the boost source/wastegate and see what boost you hit. should be around 19-20psi. you can find it with all the other "t's" and vac line things.
that way, you can have it fixed right now if you want! also, if you think your BOV is hissing, it probably is, which means somethings wrong. How was the greddy valve in? do you have stock intercooler piping so the greddy valve was in the exact position as the stocker? or was it flanged to the intercooler pipe?
