Using dry ice to improve performance and fuel economy
#16
i think Digi tech (spell?) used ice on top of their 911 turbo when they lapped the 'ring (now blown away by a Radical SR3 Turbo). and F1 teams use it to keep the rad temps down when starting a GP! if i where you i would save it for the strip. just cam as much as you can into the intercooler should freeze the cooler. also have a look at making a "bag" sort of thing to cover the upper intecooler pipe. dont think iot will make a huge diffrence, but every little helps!
the best way though would be to use a small shot of N2O. some guys are seeing big gains from the cooling effect of it alown!
thanks Chris.

Uh...no...dry ice and hot water, as you could find in an engine bay will cause a huge amount of gas to be produced in a short amount of time. Now if that gas is contained in a weak container, you get an explosion, not an expolosion with fire, but more of the kind you get when you put baking soda and vinegar together in a small film canister. I guess explosion was the wrong word, its more of a blast or pop.
