Ok, If these are dealer installed options, Does that actually give me the option if they're in there or my dealer.. I have already been allotted a specific car expected (silver big wing, with roof) but does that mean that my dealer can throw all this crap in there and rack up the price without me wanting it, leaving me to either go ahead, bend over and take the car w/ all this crap, or to wait around longer for another model to come with the factory optiosn I want PLUS no dealer installed grounding strap, or scuff covers, or those ugly *** guages?? Would calling the dealer now and telling them that if they put that **** into my car, off to subaru I go do me any good?
$400 for that ugly *** gauge pack? its cheaper and better looking to put in an hks camp and a retractable screen.

The old Evo VII wheels are 3 lbs heavier than the new Enkeis. I think the Enkei's look better anyway..I'm glad they're std.
If you already have a car allocated with deposit the dealer should NOT install any dealer installed options without you wanting them. I'm sure some of the dealers will though to jack the price up a little more.

Here are the brake rotor sizes converted to inches.
Front rotors on EVO VIII
320mm = 12.6"
Rear rotors on EVO VIII
300mm = 11.8"
Gee...what happened to the 17"-14" brake rotors everyone was talking about???
On a serious note this car will stop really well. It looks like the braking system is completely carried over from the JDM EVO VII. 4 channel abs with steering sensors, wheel speed, and g-force sensors. Also has EBD (Electroinc Brakeforce Distribution) which I always assumed was tied into the AYC/ACD electronics pretty closely. I wonder if the entire AYC/ACD code is lingering somewhere in the car with nothing to control??? Todd day from Technomotive will probably be the first to find out. I would assume that EBD helps improve the stability of the car under braking by varying brake bias. Is that correct?
If they think the viscous coupler is complicated, wait until they have to start explaining the AYC/ACD option for 2004!

I finally got my legcast off after 6 weeks, so I drive down to the dealer to get some info (I couldn't go to the LA AS BC of the cast) and I'm supposedly the first that got the brochure at this dealer. Wohoo!
Doesn't anybody else think the gauge cluster (the one w/ the speedo/tach, etc) look cheap, especially having one that says "Lancer"?

if all these options are availble, what about cruise control?
this is mainly to those people that work at a MMC dealership, can we get CC installed at the dealer? and what does it cost?

Anyone read Autoweek's review of the Evo8? They were diggin' that car.
Is Mitsu usually conservative with their 0-60 times? Reason I ask is b/c Autoweek quoted a manufacturer's estimate of 5.0 sec. I wonder what it might be if you beat the crap out of the tranny?

Can't believe their brochure is written so unprofessional. "it's very compicated and no need to go any futher"? Is this a joke to talk to customers like that?
Well, we'll hear what the magzine and ppl will say about lack of ACD, LSD and how does it compare to the full blown version. Definitily a comparason between the evo and U.S. STi will be very interesting. Can't wait till the truth comes out.
Thanks again for your help Fireball
