Well a lot of people think they are getting a steal at invoice or slightly over but only to end up paying more over the course of the loan and total acquisition price. I'd happily sell you an Evo for $28,999 brand new, but with a 6 year, 9% loan.

Do you still think you got a bargain with those terms? (you actually payed 45,936 for the Evo!!!)

The moral of the story is make sure you negotiate favorable terms on the loan and don't extend your loan term beyond six years to bring you to a comfortable monthly payment. If you have to, save for a longer period of time to bring the financed amount into line with the payment you desire. Just be safe out there!

You almost got it right

What I'm sayin is just because you get you car for invoice doesn't mean the dealer isn't rapping you on the back end. The term isn't the big issue but the APR is. If I give you a loan for 9% but you actually qualify for 6%. The dealership is going to sell the loan to the bank for 6% and make 3 points on the finance. 3 points is 3% of the loan so if you paid invoice around $30,000 but they made 3 points on the back end you actually paid $3000 over invoice.

Dumb friend says, "Yea I just got my Evo for invoice". Smart friend asks, "Cool but what your APR?"

Dumb friend replies, "12% "

i test drove the graphite grey, and got the white one off the showroom floor (really pissed the dealer off!) i just happen to be one of the ones who dont like the color, but the white only had .2 miles on it when i pulled it off the showroom floor! (no sales people driving my evo! at least not while im there.) traded in a 2004 titan and payments are $203.00 at 2.9%
