I can make the driveline clunk and clink all day if I want to. Try rolling forward in gear and slowly stop, then put it in reverse and slowly let the clutch out. CLINK! I'm guessing this is the same lash as the hard 1-2 shift. I don't think there is anything wrong, it's just the design of the driveline.

I've always thought it was normal, since we can't break traction (in stock form) on an upshift to 2nd. So all that power has to be clamped down somehow in the drivetrain.

I hear that "clink" sound from time to time...I think it's just driveline lash...nothing to worry about as long as you don't get a constant grinding noise from the TC.

no grinding here, just a loud thud/pop/thunk if i do a hard 1-2 shift. I know how to shift so it doesn't happen but it is much slower to do it like that.

friend told me after a hard launch and hard shifts up....he realigned it by doing that. I do it all the time after a rough 1-2 shift and really seems to help.

Only problem is, it'll mess up quickly if you shift too hard again.
I did it on the way to school today and it seemed to make the shifting a bit more easier when it goes in. What do you mean it will mess up quickly if you shift to hard again tho? After doing this go easy on the shifting?

like you can put it out of line again....when you race, or shift 1 thru 5 wrecklessly.
