cheapest place is walmart, they have the Mobil 1 there, give them the factory replacement filter and crusher ring. Don't forget to remind them to put 4.75 in not 5.25 quarts as in their handbook. Walmart only charges like 45 bucks for everything i think.

but cheapest is really changing it yourself man...only thing that'll cost you is the price of the materials.

yup i agree, do it urself, couldnt be any simple. its the most simple thing. IMO: people who PAY for oil changes are too lazy to get under the car and gets some oil on their hands

4.75qt is only if they properly drain the oil. Most shops wait like a minute to drain the oil. Some plug the drain up, and then replace the filter. I've noticed that when you take the filter out, you get more oil coming out of the drainhole. I don't know why.

Do you take the cap off the top, when you drain your oil? if you don't then you get the suction effect going on.
Remove the cap will help a great deal (Gravity)

They just marked up the price due to the synthetic oil. If you have a garage, then I'd recommend doing it yourself. It would cost you about $25-28 each time. With my past cars, I've had bad experiences with many places not tightening the oil filter enough.

they said that the reason for it being expensive is mobil 1 only need to be changed every 6000 miles instead of the recommended 3000 miles

Many dealers here in socal will allow you to bring in your own oil and they will charge $20 for labor and the filter. Cheapest place to buy Mobil 1 is Costco and Walmart.

Yeah, don't forget this baby needs premium Synthetic Oil. I hate to say it but you're probably in for a lot more maintenance related rude awakenings if the syn oil change is a major shocker for you... You should read up on the maintenance schedule in the manual and start setting aside a bit of $ so you'll have it when you need to get stuff done, then it will be easy!

When I was out of town and needed an oil change, I bought my oil at Walmart, bought a filter at a Mitsu dealership, and took the car to an oil change shop and they charged me $15 to change it and dispose of the oil. It cost a total of ~$45. If you don't want to change the oil yourself, that's probably the cheapest way to do it.
