thats funny because I thought it looks better with it on. How is it mounted from the bottom? It still shouldnt fall off without using the connecting arms... unless its held together by those stock plastic popping rivets

I've had mine to 145mph 3 times since putting on the APR splitter w/rods and canards. I have had no issues! I have even dug the splitter into a pot hole filled with pea gravel in DC. Just like a shovel it was completely filled with rocks. It was night and I didn't see the hole!
The rods are there for a reason!

The splitter is held on with 12 bolts on the under side and the two rods in the front. Even at 100mph you would have to hit something to rip it off.

I open road race at speeds up to 168 mph with the APR splitter and it does not come off. I do use 4 rods instead of 2 though.

It was designed to use the support rods, so put them on.

Exactly. People think that it looks clean without the rods. They don't realize how much turbulence there is on the lip. You need that rod to stablize the lip.

hardest part i think is pulling the bumper off, yeah you need to drill but everyone knows how to use a drill. Just make sure you line everything up right.

thanks for the tip guys.

one question regarding the aerodynamics of the splitter. It seems like the air will get trapped between the splitter and lower bumper. I think thats why at high speeds there is so much pressure on it that not only it pushes the front down(main purpose) but the air gets trapped in there.

I've seen pictures of the Vishnu shop car at speed and the APR splitter looks like a "W" from the front. It's all bowed down with big gaps between the bumper and the splitter exactly for the reasons you say. For the 25hr car we blocked off that area with a two inch aluminum vertical fence that sealed that area off. It helped but the APR splitter is just too thin and wimpy, it's more for show than go. Any real racing splitter is at least 1/2" thick. You can make a much better one yourself out of plywood (painted black), you'd be surprised how many well known full on race cars use wooden splitters. They're strong, durable, easy to shape and cheap. You want to support it with bigger rods that the wimpy (again) APR rods.
Get those jig saws fired up! I want to see pictures of the prettiest one
