Hey guys..i have been looking around the thread to see why u cant just put the evo8 spoiler on the RS...i cant seem to find anything...can anyone explain to me why u have to change the trunk to put the spoiler...cant u just order i spoiler..i thought the outer dimensions for all the evos were the same?.. my dealer said they were ordering me the evo 8 non-carbon fiber spoiler for 400 does any one know if thats true...i know the carbon fiber ver. is like 1400 or so wouldnt that make the non carbon fiber like at least 800-900 or something

 

he's probably ordering you the OZ ralliart Lancer spoiler which is about 3-4 inches tall. you can put an evo 8 spoiler on a RS trunk but you will have to do the drilling yourself. it would be easier & cheaper to find an evo8 trunk for sale or anyone parting their car out & get it that way.

 

I think your dealer is full of it. The evo VIII wing should bolt right on to the RS.

 

exactly ..thats what i thought...the parts guy called mitsu of america i guess and they said that the evo 8 spoiler isnt made for the RS and it wont fit blah blah..so the guy just went ahead and ordered me this 400 dollar spoiler..idk i just really like the evo 8 spoiler u know when i heard that bunch of crap he said i felt like i got punched in the stomach..that other spoiler to me just doesnt fit the evo

 

just need to drill the holes thas all your dealers is clueless go somehwere else

hey so yeah the dealer can get two diff types of evo spoilers, one from carbon fibre and the other painted like carbon fibre. the real spoiler is like 1000 bucks or more, and the other is like 350-450. and it will fit any lancer, ls, es, oz, rs, gsr, or the mr.

 

yeah, that is crap, the factory evo8 spoiler fits all Lancer Trims of All years 02+ lancer evo and non-evo. So if MMNA is saying it won't fit, then they need to look at thier spec sheet and fire the **** they have working there.... but then again it could have been the parts guy giving the MMNA a wrong description or part number....

 

hmm thats wierd...like sabastian said it will fit any lancer cuz the trunk size and shape are the same on all evos (not sure bout 04+ lancers)...but i inquired about the price of cf spoiler at my dealership and the guy said 900 installed.

 

Why don't you just look on Ebay I've seen a couple people with the factory carbon wing for sale on there. The just mount it yourself. If you do go that route I suggest finding a friend with an Evo and the factory wing and make a template off of his facotry holes in the decklid. That way you know it's going to fit and be centered.

 

That's funny, the dealership ASKED me what wing I wanted to have put on the car. I had my choice of the VII, VIII, or OZ...I went for the VII and they ordered and installed it.
