When you bought your evo...
how long were you actually at the dealership working out a deal, I mean the actuall in dealership negoiating(sp) process. I think I may have the record here for shortness. I had a deal worked out for an rx8, which took a week in itself, but the mazda folks still tried to screw me by tacking on TTand L to the out the door price we had already worked out.
But anyway, later that same night I rembered that the mitsu dealer still had some 03's left on the lot, so I figured what the hell they probably would let one go for cheap. So the next day I went to mitsu, still ticked off about the rx8, and talked to the sales manager. The deal may have taken 1-2 mins. I mean it was like "I will give you 24k for it, I'm pre-approved, and I'm not in the mood for BS" his response "24.5k". My re-response "O.K." Next thing you know I am driving home in a brand new red evo. It was like going to the store to buy a case of beer or something, that easy. Hopefully my next car purchase can be that easy.

I think it was 108, so not 7 miles on the odometer new, but not too bad for a car that had been sitting on the lot for well over a year. Probably got reemed in those 100 miles though I bought the evo back in Nov., so its been a few months. But some of the other threads about APR's etc. got me thinking about my buying experience.

i went to the dealership looking for an oz-rally, the night before i checked carmax for and 02-03 oz-rally, and found an 03, white, 17k miles, sunroof, etc, for 11.5k and i was like hmm, good deal
so i went to dealership, they had an 02 with 28k miles and no sunroof for 14.5k... and it was yellar :bleh:
when they told me it would be over 15k i honestly laughed, told the salesman, thanks for your time but i'll go order the other one off carmax. he then asked me to come back and talk some more.
i got them to match the price for 11.5
i got a free power sunroof (worth 1k) and 3 in's wider than stock sun-roofs
4 new tires
new brakes
extended warrenty
just gottta know how to hustle and deal w/ people

Walked in with a check walked out with a car. The negotiating was great. The dealer basically told me "oh yeah you have an additional $1000 off for previous model year"...I said "great!" Took about a minute or so.

Wow, I guess I'm the only one without a quick buy. The day I was looking for an evo, I went to 4 different dealerships negotiated on prices, finally settled on one and came back the next day to purchase it. The day I took it home it still took about 2 hours with all the forms...

I took my neighbor over to pick up his new Honda Accord. I was proud of him when he told me he had negotiated the price he wanted. He said he arrived at the dealership at 4:00 pm and closed the deal at 9:15 pm.
