After Market Steering Wheels

Are there any companies that make an after market steering wheel for the Evo 8. I heard Sparco had a universal one , but it required welding and was not reccommened. Thanks for any help.

Momo has a lot of wheels that are universal as long as you buy the right hub adapter.

Where is the driver's airbag located? Doesn't it come out of the steering wheel? I'd like a detachable steering wheel to deter theives, but I thought messing with the steering wheel messes with the SRS.

thieves will take your car regardless if it has a steering wheel. these days they'll simply tow the car. besides, my friend's buddy "stole" his other friend's car without a steering wheel to prove a point to him that it can be done. lack of a steering wheel can slow down thieves, or deter an inexperienced ones, but if someone really wants the car, it's as good as gone. i would suggest spending money on other thief deterrant features in your car.

I want to get rid of the drivers air bag for time attack purposes. I am trying to find the right hub adapter. MOMO has nothing for the Evo as of right now. I am sure someone has to make one. Thanks for any help.

there's more than one person running sparco wheels... so i don't know what you mean... they are using the quick release hubs... but almost all aftermarket steering wheels will require that.

i say... if you want a custom wheel... get the stock one covered in alcantara... but where to go to get that done?

you can't have airbag for some road race and few autox events, i believe.

it's a safety thing with the helmet and airbag, where airbag deploys and breaks your face or neck or something when it hits your helmet.

it makes sense

Exactly, I think this is for people who are really racing their car.
