I'm shocked, was there ANY safety crew on site? If this guy had been stuck it the car he would have been killed. The managment at this track needs to be fired, watching how long it took for a fire crew to show up really pissed me off.

I hung out until the day was over, and Buscher racing said it was nitrous that caused the fire, the announcer even said so later in the day when the prizes were being given out.

Im not saying it wasnt nitrous as I wasnt there but I think nitrous is an accelerant. It by itself is not flammable, it enhances an already present fire as it is just more oxygen than the atmosphere. Maybe im wrong but it would be interesting to see what started the whole thing since it appears it started in the back.

It was a 10 second car from Showdown Motorsports. It was a nitrous backfire, that started under the car. No extinguisher was going to help it. Only a fire truck could put that out.

Wow, that's the second car in the last few weeks I've seen burn up because of a nitrous backfire. I saw a video of a yellow Z06 do the same thing. ecept it didn't make it off the starting line. I definately fill sorry for the owner. what sux is he's probably gonna have a nice fat clean up fee from the track and probably from the fire department. I know my friends car burnt up on the track and they charged him 900 dollar clean up fee. I just really hate to see something like that. The look on the drivers face is so painful. I can't image if that was to happen to me. I just glad the guy is ok. the car is just a material thing. it can be replaced. He life can't. that's all the matters.
