Im screwed
So, i put my advans back on my evo last week after doing a few runs with snow tires on. With the snow tires i got a 14.4 sec 1/4 mile. With the advans, i got a 13.4. I was having a little too much fun with the car at the track, so much fun that i wound up frying my clutch. Its so bad, i dont see how i made it home. I accidentally dropped the clutch while i was still in gear and at a stand still, and the thing didnt stall, it caught and started driving like an auto. On top of that, my rotors are starting to warp, so im gonna need a new set. Now, the biggest problem is im only 16 and i only make about $600 a month, and i have prom and my gf's bday coming up in may....so im screwed moneywise. Anyone have any suggestions on how i could replace both the clutch and the rotors for as cheap as possible (the clutch is by far more important right now). Thanks a lot!

Rotors, should probably only need to be turned, unless you REALLY warped them... in that case, next time after braking THAT hard, drive around for at least 5 minutes to let them cool evenly... My rotors have warped about 50 times, and only twice have I had to have them turned, the rest, a few days of regular driving and braking put them back into place. The clutch... well... with that, unless you can do you're own clutch install, you're REALLY screwed... hey, at least it wasn't the clutch, the TC, and the tranny... or a whole freaking engine that I had to get replaced. Try an 8k price tag on repairs instead of the 1-3k you're gonna be set back.
And you guys saying "you're 16 and you drive and Evo, get a car you can afford" just go post somewhere else, that's not what this guy needs right now. The guys that post "I just did a million dohnuts and now my TC is fried" or "I rolled my Evo on a canyon drive" are the ones you should be making fun of, the ones that raise our insurance prices... and not all of them are under 21

Oh yeah, and as a side note, being that your car is pretty much useless (if it was something that you could still easily drive the car safely, it'd be different) your girlfriend should understand and let you at least spend the money on getting the clutch fixed. Driving a car with a burnt clutch sucks ***, I've done it twice... stupid S2k

Also, as far as figuring out how to get it all paid for. First of all, I would make sure your rotors are really warped. It's more likely that you have some uneven pad deposits on the rotors. That should help some. Unfortunately, there really isn't much of a chance of the clutch + install costing much less than $1000.
