View Poll Results: As far as the Evo's looks is concerned
It's hideous. I own one because of the performance and value.

I love the look of my evo -- even more so recently since I put some S-Techs on it This car is mean, agile, mobile and hostile!!! Like Jules wallet said in Pulp Fiction...it's a Bad ***** ***a!!! w00t!

In general, I think the Evo is OK looking, but not great. Problem is, it is based on an unattractive sedan, the Lancer. The proportions are off on that car, with the butt being too short relative to the long nose. I think the Evo with the wing balances that out, but without the wing, it just looks goofy.
In any case, I like the car a lot, and from most angles it looks pretty mean, but from the side, de-winged it just looks bad.

If they'd made it like this I would have bought one. Much cleaner and it doesn't have the Pontiac Sunbird with a wing slapped on look. A true sleeper and something a grown man could drive.

Every vent and surface of the Evolution serves a purpose. The wing is big because you HAVE to have a big wing to have any kind of aerodynamic impact. Virtually every other "wing" that you see on performance cars today serve no purpose whatsoever. And it's the same wing used in SCCA ProRally and WRC Group A competition.
And finally, I agree 100% about the E30 M3 being the spiritual ancestor of the Evo. Both were defined by homologation requirements and both use the same body panels and aero bits as their competition counterparts. While the WRX started as a homologation vehicle, when you compare Group A performance, where the cars are much closer to production than WRC, the Evo absolutely dominates the class.
I would add another poll entry- "it's beautiful in a bauhaus way". Bauhaus was a german architecture and art school in the early 20th century that defined modernist architecture and furniture design. The basic tenet of the Bauhaus school was that "form follows function". In other words, if an object is extremely functional, then by definition it is also beautiful... Michelangelo made and painted some beautiful art, but his work never had to solve some of the modern world's most vexing design problems, as the bauhaus school did.

Good Analysis....
I think that the current body shape Evo will stand the test of time in what might seem to be a peculiar way, but it is a very good example of a bauhaus aesthetic....
and not in the "bela Lugosi is dead" sort of way!!

I think it's how you see things and personality. Ya know how people say the car you buy is a kind of showing of what your personality is like. Example, most likely a little girl with money and/or stuck up won't appreciate it. On the other hand a girl that can hang with the guys and is just fun to be around would probably like it.
I think it's pretty sweet looking myself. I think from the rear and side it looks "OK", but the front looks amazing to me. Just so so aggressive looking. That's why they have body kits and other ****. Hell, you can make a sunfire look good if you had enough money.

I like the look of both cars (although the s2000 looks like a miata in many ways), the 350Z is also a very sleek looking car but it's just something about those headlights that make it look cheap for some reason.

The only real Q-ship out of Mitsubishi is the GVR4, now that is a sleeper.

Exterior is mean looking...kinda looks pissed off (especiall with painted headlights). Inside, not as good, but not that bad. Seats are comfortable, but wish they didn't have blue in them. Dash is kind of bland, but whatever. Has the ***** to justify a crappy interior.
