Reading comprehension is a useful skill.

If you notice in his original post, he said that the Spec-V wasn't much of a downgrade from the Evo. This is the statement most of us are refuting, because the Spec-V couldn't even hold the Evo's jockstrap, yet he's convinced himself that there is even a remote comparison between the two just because it has a sound system that he could easily install aftermarket for much less money.

He also plans on getting a fast bike to go along with it, so how does that make sense? An 18k piece of crap car plus an 8k crotch rocket = a 2004 GSR in price. So much for affording the payments...

I sent a pm, check it out. And yea, stupid move on the spec v. I was driving one before my evo, they are so slow and crap, but they cost less so I hear you on that.

I'm going to agree with Warrtalon and say that reading comprehension is a good skill. However, I am not as forgiving as he is, so I will not explain why I said that.

My buddy just had his engine replaced by Nissan. Apparently some bolt in the intake manifold came loose and got sucked into the engine. It ended up locking up his #1 cylinder I beleive. His car had just under 40,000 miles on it.

Between his Spec V, his wifes Spec V, and my sister in laws Sentra, you couldn't pay me to beleive Mitsu's quality is as bad as everyone says it is. Seems all the Spec V's and Sentra's have this "cold start" problem to where they hardly won't start at all. My buddies wife's Spec V had a new tranny put in it as well.

Good luck with the new car.....you might need it.

PS....I'm not bashing you one bit, just a warning of what you might be getting into. Good luck....seriously.

wow i cant understand some of you guys at all, you think the evo is the best car in the world... is the spec V a better car...no but is it more comfortable? yes, does it get better gas mileage? yes, do i get taken care of at service instead of turned around like at mitsu? yes, is it slower than the evo? yes, but the evo is one of the fastest mass production cars out there so to say its faster is just plain stupid, the build quality of the evo is poor as well. no CC, cheap paint, doors never lined up right. it get mystery chips in the side of the car. it had a bad suspension for DD, the seats start to hurt after an hour of driving. all the evo is is a 15K car with a better motor, brakes, better reinforcment, and body panels. my car is a 16k car and isnt trying to cover up anything. the spec V costs half the price of the evo so how could it be faster? if the spec V was as fast as the evo you all would be driving it as well. im not sugar coating my "downgrade" you are sugar coating a 30K mistake. i liked my evo and would have keeped it if the funds allowed it but it was practical for me remember I bought the car when i was 18 not my parents, i could afford it but their was no point in paying for it when i didnt drive it to its potential. the car i have now handles great and it is still capable to go over bumps without throwing me around. it make power below 3K RPMs which i know evos cant do. both cars has their good points and their low points and i think you guys just try to think of all the negative things of my car and only the good things of the evo. think about that for a while before you guys want to bash my car and paise your car..i know i cant win an arguement on an evo forum so just think about it

PS mods should close the thread here, ill get a hold of the locals that PMed me and i might go to the AMS swap in a week or so.

I can understand somebody that isn't as much of a car enthusiast not caring enough to make the big payments. Hell I probably will never buy a brand new car to go fast again, I just wanted to do it once. I will probably keep the evo for a long time and make it my track car after its payed off. I can understand somebody that just wants to really get from point A to point B with a little pep in their ride. Don't worry not everybody here is narrow minded

Hope you like the Sentra!

It's weird, I go through stages where I want to sell my Z to get a bike and a little grocery-getter. I just haven't done it yet.

i gotta chime in. Im not going to bash your nissan trade... somebody out there is happy evo owner. But <shrug> maybe the year you had wasnt as good as a 05 cause my 05 spools at 2800 rpm, I get great pickup across the band, my ride is comfy.. even after the multiple 3 hr car trips to orlando and back ive done since i got the car. If you did research on the evo you would see its not a "15k" car with some "extras" but the best rated performance car you can get for a reasonable price. The interior is tailored to the buyers and Im just happy with it as are most evo owners. I dont consider my evo a "30k mistake" I make good money and the fact that I can have me+4 pps in the car and still glide through traffic with ease makes it a very nice buy for me. Your initial logic of getting the nissan and then a bike for cost efficiancy is dumb as others have pointed out... take your nissan and be happy; I wont bash you for lowering your payments.. but dont come back and bash us for enjoying the luxury of actually being able to afford a real car when your broke.

Well said. At least at your age you are not foolish about your money and think you have to keep the car. I will close the thread for you. If you still have stuff to sell go over to Private For Sale/Wanted and start a thread. Good luck with the new car and enjoy the bike when you get it.
