What to Buy... EVO VIII vs. E36 M3

E36 M3 or EVO...?

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i will be in the market for a new car soon and i really really want another E36. but, i also think an Evo would be a fun car to have.

Used Evo w/ less than 30k miles = $22-25k
'98-'99 M3 w/ less than 60k miles = $18-20k

Stock the Evo its already a whole second faster in the 1/4 mile, and has so much more hp potential with mods, making it very tempting.

The M is a "BMW" , but its expensive to mod / fix. and you get more positive attention in an M3 than and Evo, especially from the females

I to was looking to bye a 98-99 M3 but I'm glad I didnt. Nothing compares to the Evo in my opinion.

Just to let you know it says Evo VII on the thread. I would have to say Evo VII over anything, but Evo VIII still over an M3. M3 is so impracticle, plus it will be slower.

On an Evolution website, the answer should be obvious.

Also, the m3 is too flashy smashy for me. If you want something flashy, get 2003, 04 max EVO, then spend the money you saved (if it was a new m3) and buy a 2003 or 04 GSXR or something.

If you are judging only on fun to drive, the EVO hands down. Go drive them both and make a decision. I considered a slightly used 02 when I got my EVO and I'm glad I didn't choose the BMW. In the end, there was no comparison when driving and I wasn't buying for image.

If it was an e46, my vote would swing differently.

Get the evo.

Get a used 03 Evo with a 2005 GSXR used with 2k miles for under 30k total.

I've traded my E36M for my 03 Evo . No comparason between the cars in terms of performance. The E36M3 is a great performing car for it's time and that's all i can say.
