Mitsubishi Dealers - Quality or not

While I agree that bashing a profession or whatever you want to call it, isnt exactly right. I also beleive that people shouldnt take casual posts on a message board so personally. If you take offense to what people say here then perhaps you need to re-evaluate the way in which you interact with people online. Nothing on this thread is personally directed at anyone and people who feel insulted or personally targeted need to realize the informallity of this forum and loosen up a bit. Just my opinion. I just cant understand how people can get mad on this forum. If it really makes you that upset, just walk away, turn off the computer and enjoy the outdoors.
zepelinkid ...
Enjoy the outdoors? Huh? It's 10 degrees out with little snow..?!
Are you a treehugger? I bet your a treehugger...Do you drink ricemilk dude??
Anyways, I think it is important to stand up for what you believe in, or what you do for a living..There is nothing wrong with what is said on these boards..if you are a treehugger as a career zepelinkid , I would expect you to occasionally straighten someone out, or perhaps "defend" yourself if the others don't understand what drinking ricemilk is all about. ( wow...lookit the stereotypes and general inconsideration in these paragraphs...do you get my point? it is UNECESSARY!)
Besides, those that aren't in the car business aren't in it for a reason. It certainly isn't because of image, because selling cars is actually cool... Maybe they just can't sell!? PLUS you can make a lot of money in it if you are in fact GOOD and get over the stereotypes and bad attitudes that a lot of CUSTOMERS actually have...that is really what makes selling cars difficult.
If YOU don't like what is said in someones posts, then maybe YOU should go outside and hug a tree?!
Or drink some ricemilk?

Let's say the salesperson has a good month, moves 12 new cars, with an average retail value of $25,000 each and sells each of them for a few hundred over so each deal was a "mini". S/he just made $1,200 for a months work to move $300,000 worth of product.
Do you see why salespeople don't like whoring out cars for a few hundred over?

I don't expect anybody to feel sorry for me. I love my job and I want to get better, but like Mark I take offense when people say we're all slimeballs. And to restate what he said, I don't see anyone championing our cause when we have to sell for UNDER sticker, so if free willing, deep pocketed Americans are willing to pay more, then by God they can.

Nobody complains?

Just a question, but how come nobody complains when dealers have to sell cars for substantially less than MSRP when the market dictates it? How is doing that different than asking over MSRP when market conditions allow it?

Expect the reverse if you charge over MSRP.
Dealers have a chance to gain goodwill and return customers and word of mouth when they deceide to not charge over MSRP. It's a hard choice for real short term profits, compared to possible long term sales gains, aftermarket part sales, service sales, etc.
As a business owner, I have this same choice whenever we have a hot product in limited supply. Here, there's allways the option of buying for cheeper on the internet, so I have to give reasons other than price to gain customers.
I'm assuming I'm paying MSRP, just as I did on my last (hot) vehicle. If not, I'll go elsewhere, wait, or get a different car.
