Need Advice, Wheels were bent by shop during mounting

I got brand new set of 5zigen fonr1-c wheels. HAd tire discounters mount and balance them for me, and they bent the lips on two of them. I picked the car up from the shop got home and proceeded to clean the residue from the lube they use, and imediatly noticed how bent two of the wheels were. I mean there bent good. I called them, went back up there and they said that they didn't do it. Everything I said they turned it around on me saying it was me who did it. I Asked them if someone drove the car or road tested it, they said no. THey got real irate with me and basically told me I did it driving home. Keep in mind I live 10 minuates from this place, and theres nothing in the road I could hit. The speed limit all the way back is 25. THese are bent so much that the lip as crinkles in it from the bend. I call the district manager who obviously has talked to the shop already and he feeds me the same line of crap saying theres no way his guys could have done this, and the way it was bent it was impossible to have been caused by them. SO I stuck with 2 bent wheels over 65 mph the stearing wheel shakes like a ****. I really feel as if some one there took my car for a little spin and hit something while they were out enjoying themselves. Either that or they bend it with a pri bar when installing the tire. I've been told to go to small claimes court right now that seems like my only option. I"m frankly rather upset over the whole thing for being insulted by being called a lier, and the over all feeling of them trying to cover something up. THere is no way these wheels were bent before I left them there. I know they bent it and I want it corrected.
Here are some pics. u cant see how the lip is crinkled due the the polished lip camera just doenst pick it up.

File a claim with them (threaten a lawsuit and follow up if needed)... or file one through your insurance company.

Unless they are willing to cooperate with you and pay you for damaged - you are not going to be able to do anything. That's the sad truth.

That's absolute bullsh@t... I know exactly how you feel. The sad part is there really is nothing that you can do. It's you vs. the whole tire shop. I would try to take them to small claims court or file a complaint with the BBB. Good luck man.

work your way up the chain... keep complaining until the pay you to go away.

By filing a claim I mean have them open an insurance claim on it. Be persistant!!!

It's difficult to tell from the photos; are there obvious scratches, scuffs on the part of the rim that's bent? Maybe two of the wheels were out of spec when you purchased them?

ya I know its hard to tell in the pic. No the rims were prefect when I got them. I waxed them up before I took them to be mounted. In person u can see how bent they are. ANd when you run your finger over them, you can feel and see the crinkled part of the lip before and after where the actual bend is. I feel so betrayed and cheated right now, makes me sick to my stomac. Sucks I'm gonna have to buy 2 more rims just to have one set.

where did u purchase the rims from. Also if u do file court stuff and it falls through this is what i would do. I would sit outside there store and tell everyone who walks in that store dont come there or else they will mess up your rims. Do it on a sidewalk casue if u are on there property then they will get u arrested. Then what i would do is get some spray paint and go crazy. Go crazy on some of the cars they got left over night. Go crazy with the building and just let all your anger out. Then run away before the cops come.

Could they possibly be bent back into shape? with a rubber mallet and gradual light taps? Sorry to hear about what happened ... sucks ..

I got the wheels from ravspec. dealer on this board. I'd love to do what you said, but more to the employees cars who are lying to my face. I have a sick gut feeling one of those ahole went for a spin in my car, and messed it up. The district manager fed me aline of crap that said all the guys at the shop were supervising my installation, and everything went great. HE even thought is was so great that I got such a cheap deal for the mounting, and yadda yadda, just total crap!

they would literally have had to use a sledge hammer to get the tires on and missed and hit the wheel to cause a bend (plus it was in two of them). I don't see it possibly happening while mounting them. It had to be either 1. you got them used and didn't see it 2. they test drove the car and slammed into something hard or hit a pot hole bad or 3 . it happened on the way home but you would have to hit a big hole to do that. Is it the same side of the car? Like both passenger side wheels? when the tires are off its a lot harder to see slight rim bends then it is when a tire is on it and is perfectly circular (then it shows the gap/bend).

I hate to say it, but your pretty much SOL. Even if you go to court its your word against all of theirs. You dont have a chance and will spend much more money, time, and effort than its worth.

The only thing you can do is remember to check the wheels and tires after they get mounted before you even get in the car. I always do it, im sure you will too now.
