yea...Im making almost 400hp and have a greddy type-s...I'm ricey too I guess. But damn, I forgot to install my Pep boys blinking neons...my bad.

And for my experience, Ive had the stock dv, MR dv, forge dv and now the greddy...and the greddy is the best valve ive experienced as for performance

anyways, back onto the topic at hand, i dont mean cars that are ONLY runnin on stock map, people in general seem to think running a loud bov in general is rice even if it does not affect the car's performance. I hear people always say "yeah...this xxxx car rolled up and i could hear his ricey *** bov go off". What if i was running a diff ECU and i made a topic asking "wahts the loudest bov i can buy", i bet the first post would say something about loud bov's are rice. My point being is that people claim that loud bovs are rice. What if it doesnt affect performance on the car, is it still considered rice if i chose an HKS SSQ vta setup over a MR DV if i was running some sort of standalone?

well I must be a ricer too then
add me to the list!!!!!!
oh and I guess that silly wing out back makes me one too then huh?

I have a greddy typeS
my stock dv was causing boost spikes in the 1.5-1.6 bar range tapering down to 1.1-1.2bar(stock Evo btw)
I installed the typeS and now I get a steady 1.4bar in gears 1-3 and sometimes I peak at 1.5bar in cold weather or depending on load in 3rd, 4th and 5th
cant hear the bov that much with the stock intake
now I put a cat-back on(waiting for a helix dp so I can install my test pipe) and my BOV got louder(i swear it did )

I bought the bov cuz it was only $199 w/ flange brand new from a vendor and I know I was gonna need a BOV for when I start to up the boost cuz obviously my stock one cant hold 19psi for ****
plus the sound is COOL!!!

How about this qualifying as rice:

ANYONE WHO INSTALLS AN INTAKE AND VTA, THEN COMES ON THESE BOARDS COMPLAINING THEIR CAR RUNS LIKE CRAP.

Any takers on that? Just a thought

What a square Uhhh I don't think it's ricey at all. Sometime people tend to be mislead by the word "rice." I don't consider tuning a part of your engine is ricey. Now tuning your car to look like other car that's ricey. Well that's just my 2 cents. I guess we all have different opinion on what's rice or not, that's what makes the world go around and around. Don't tell me y'all don't like the sound of a pssshhhhhhiiiiiivvvv, I guess that's part of it that makes you feel good about having a turbo car.

if people like the PSSSSSSSSSHHHHHHHHIT sound, i think people should just be informed that you could get it from an aftermarket Intake...

I have a Recirc and its pretty damn loud... except its a deeper CHHHSSSSHHHHH unlike VTA's
