QUESTION!

Can anyone tell me what the FUNCTION of that air scoop above the windshield in the top picture is? I keep looking at it thinking "Why is that there?"

It seems to me that this scoop is not functional. This car looks like a USDM Evo 8 with a rally paint job, white wheels and a non-functional roof scoop.

Ok. So if it WERE functional, what would it be used for? The only time I've ever seen something like that would be for a rear-engine car.

I've got a better question. Does anyone know who makes the wheels on the SCCA Evo VIII ProRally car? =) You'd think it'd be Enkei just based on Mitsu's constant involvment with them but I just can't read the writing on the wheels in any of the pictures. Does anyone that went to this show in paticular know?

They're Enkei Ralliart editions. You can see it on one of the other pictures.

I saw in another thread that those wheels come in black as well. I don't know if those will be offered for USDM Evo.

Nope. Not as far as I can tell. The other pictures you are referring to are pictures of the WRC car with Enkei's WRC Tarmac Evos(edit: look here) on it. The US SCCA ProRally Evo VIII has 6 spoke wheels on it and I can't make out the words that are on them. Any other guesses?

Which wheels are you referring to? The SCCA ProRally car wheels or the WRC car Enkeis?

The black ones even look like 5 spoke to me. They don't look like the white wheels on O'Sullivan's car at all anyway. Close though.

The reason this is important to me is because I hate 5 spoke wheels but like 6 spoke. I wish Enkei made a 6 spoke version of the WRC Tarmac Evo in something other than white but they don't so I'm out of luck. If I could possibly find out what the 6 spokes are on the O'Sullivan car then maybe next I might find out that they're available in something other than white and then...then I might just be in heaven. Of course Volks fit the bill for what I'm interested in but I really like the look of those up there at the top of the thread.

the roof scoop is used for ventilation...allowing cool air to come in...rally cars aren't allowed to run with open windows so they require window spacers in the rear which have holes on them or a roof scoop which they require to cut a hole on the roof to allow the air to rush in...and slide trap door is installed inside to allow the driver to open and close it when he wishes.

I wouldn't mind one of those scoops on my car. Anytime I drive a girl around with the windows down (and I hate the AC) they gripe about their hair.
