or, you can jack the front up in the middle. i do that on the metal plate under the motor, it has a little "knob" that is raised from the plate. although, it is not exact center, so one end gets raised a little higher than the other

off topic, but that sears HQ is monstrous.. i was there a few months for TGI (The great indoors). It could be like the biosphere (self contained)
How much are those sears jacks? You can get similar jacks at harbor freight. They have various models with varying degrees of quality at various prices. variously.

I would personally jack from the suspension arm mount points its a lot more sturdy plus it doesnt chew it up. Nobody may see it yeah but if u bend it all up the paint will chip on it and cause it to rust...

I don't see how that rubber piece would make it any more stable, other than it protecting the seam.
You could also use a hockey puck if you're worried about chewing it up.... but really people, those pictures are after jacking my car up 20+ times. I'm not trying to be insensative, but quit sweating the small stuff
