Since this thread has been resurrected, does anybody have a pic or two of jack points they use that differ from the factory jack points (ie arm joints etc)?

+1 just make sure its centered.

Be sure to always do it on a flat surface, pull your e-brake up and I always put the car in first gear.

I have jack stands that I put the car up on and keep tension with a jack for a failsafe setup. I feel much safer - if one gives, the other is there to keep the car from coming down upon me.

Or you could be a baller and install a setup as such:

I have seen that set up only on race cars. But I sure wish my Evo had that. Of course that is only high enough to change a tire. I am not sure I would trust that being under the car.

I wouldn’t mind having the cash to dig a pit in my garage floor though either that or a lift.

are you referring to the ones to change your tires?

I was just interested in exactly what points people are using besides the jack points recommended by mitsu... if that makes sense.

The Eastwood adapter looks nice. I have a Craftsman jack and it's rusty and leaking oil. Sinks slowly under load so I throw the jackstand underneath as it's coming down.

I thought jacsktands were pretty reliable. Is that incorrect?

this thread is 3 years old. the OP probably crashed his car by now. but yes, jacking at the pinch welds is good, i like the frame personally.
