JDM MR BOV not smooth in traffic?

Hi, I have an 05 MR and I considering getting a JDM MR BOV for it because I hear that it holds the boost better between 5 & 6 k rpm. Question is will the JDM valve give me problems in bumper to bumper traffic -stalling issues- compared to the stock unit as some of you have mentioned, is there a trade off?. I have to admit that the stock plastic unit works without issue in traffic, I can just pit the car in first and putter along smoothly at 2 mph if I need to and only use the clutch if I need to stop, after all the less I use the clutch in traffic the better.

I dont recommend it for traffic. Thats what i have to drive though everyday. Had the jdm mr valve on for 1 day, stalled out to many times, had crazy compressor surge. Then again alot of people have had no problems. I say buy it used, put it on, if it gives you problems, it will sell quick.

I have the JDM MR BOV and drive in traffic daily... ever since I installed it, it has stuttered at least once or twice each day... but has never stalled on me yet...

Don't know what problems you guys are having, but have had an MR BOV since they first came out and have had 0 problems, even think it drives BETTER than stock. 0 stalling problems, EVER, on my '03 or '05 MR and have never had any surges or anything else.

Strongly recommend it!

mine used to stall the car if I backed up in the reverse and quickly pressed the clutch and brake at the same time while putting it into gear. No doubt a vacuum issue.

Sounds like you installed it backwards, flip it.

I have a 2005 MR. That has modifications. I have the JDM MR BOV. I have no problems. The car runs smooth no stalling, sputtering, surging ETC. Its one of the best modifications that I could have done. The car holds boost much better than the stock plastic POS. Thats just my experience but its worth a try.

Goodluck
