If you have the F1 package (Al pedals, shift knob and gauge kit) then the MSRP is $29,074 and invoice is $27,404.
You paid somewhere in between, which isn't too bad. You probably could have negotiated invoice (possibly just below), but you did OK.

Paid 26,900 for mine, adding all the bs charges like freight. GET THE RS you can upgrade later all the other stuff. I sold my 350z fully loaded touring model and dont miss a good damn thing about it. I still have not even got a radio and have been a radio freak. The RS is the highest proforming EVo stock and there is plenty of proof to back that, 13.1sec 1/4 mile stock. you can add on all the other heavy stuff later.

I'm sure you can lease an Evo. I've looked into it when I was buying the car. But it comes out being the same payments.
Just for your information, I downed $10k with 3.2% payment is $386 a month. The OTD price was $32,000ish for a GSR.
So if you want to pay $600 per month. I don't think you will have a problem. But like the others said. Why have all the money outgoing when you can save some. What kind of Mazda 3 do you have? I like the 5 door alot!

I have the Mazda 3i 4door in white. It is a nice little car just want something better.
For anyone still following the actual thread lol, i have access to about 5000 for downpayment which only really wipes out the upside down on the mazda. Anyone can swing me a deal with something like this let me know.

With the price of gas as it is, and the Evo loving the stuff, keep that in mind. Also, other wear items like tires, clutch, and brake pads are much more expensive than non-performance cars and they could wear out amazingly quick. I bet your insurance would be much higher , too.

I bought my '05 RS for about $30k OTD in February. I didn't have a trade-in. I got a really good deal on both the car and the loan but my credit score was a little higher. I put down about $6k and my monthly payments are about $350 on an 84 month loan with a 4.6% APR. I've been paying $400/mo instead of $350 to get rid of some of that interest. Only 81 more payment and she's all mine. I bought the RS instead of the GSR/MR for a number of reasons...1.) I like to tinker w/my rides 2.) my wife hated the wing on my old car (SRT-4) and 3.) it's a wolf in sheep's clothing.
If you're buying the RS just because it's the cheapest Evo you need to be aware of all the creature comforts you'll be missing. If price is the number one criteria but you want power windows, locks, etc you should still be able to find a new '04 GSR somewhere out there. I could have got one for less than my '05 RS.
Cars are not investments but you'll be OK if you make sure what you owe on the car is never more than the car is worth. That's just common sense and by putting down $5k you're doing the right thing. I also would not recommend leasing. The dealership will be more than happy to sign you into one, but it's a nightmare for any number of reasons...mileage, mods, accidents, etc. Leases are something that should be avoided unless they're for business purposes.
BTW...feel free to PM me w/any questions.

I guess the OTD price changes depending on where you live since taxes and fees change. I was OTD with my 04 for under $27K. I guess it boils down to paying what you think the car is worth. If a new RS is worth the price the dealership is offering you, go for it.
