Launching an ACT clutch
Ive been having some trouble launching the ACT street/strip clutch at the drag strip. I could launch the stock clutch just fine, but this one grabs much harder. Ive tried launching it at high rpms, low rpms, slipping it, dropping it, etc and i cant get a 60' time under 2 seconds usually. For those of you who have an act clutch, how do you launch it? Thanks!

I know what your talking about , I have had my ACT clutch in for about a month and a half and in the begining it was "rough" around the edges , now after the month has passed its "softer" but holds firm as a rock with out slipping and shifts are precise, something that wasnt the case with the stocker. when you shift an act clutch it feels soooo much more solid than the stocker ..

I have had problems from 1st to 2nd gear in high rev race situations, its almost like being locked out, are you experiencing this aswell?
I personally for lauching slip it till I get going fast enough not to induce wheelhop then drop it and hold on

any way I slip it because I used to drop it at 5k or 6k and induce wheel hop, which I got on video.

With 5-6k dumps on an ACT 2600, I basically ripped the VHT off the track every time until I broke tranny parts. Depending on the track conditions, I'd sometimes just spin all 4 and do a little rattlesnake pattern, but usually the tires gripped and pulled 1.6x 60's. This is great for 60's, but bad for the car, so I eventually learned a feathering technique that I use to this day, and although it only gets me 1.7s, I haven't broken any drivetrain parts since doing it.
