It'll be the same one that is on the current Lancer.

I want a sunroof on mine. Although they do weight a little, the benefits of having a sunroof when its actually sunny out (IMO) outweighs the 'weight issue' of the subroof. I won't be on the track enough to see a difference in the 35 lbs myself.

It would be nice to have the option of a SR vs. MR though

Anyway, to make my point, you shouldn't have any trouble fitting, sunroof or not, assuming the Evo is somewhat similar in headroom space to the current Lancers...

the evo8 is 3 inches taller and 3 inches wider than a regualr lancer. And it also has wider track and length.

with the sunrood in the evo8 it still has one more inch of head room than a reg. lancer withOUT a sunroof.

My only point is if i want to take it to the track , will my helmet fit????/

I am 6'3" and sick of bending my neck.
With a helmet it is even worse.
I never use my existing sunroof anyway.
A sunroof is like **** on a rainbarrel.

The lancer has the larges interior room for it's class.

With or without sunroof I think it's less than 1 inch but I can't think of any other sports car that has more headroom than a lancer evo.

Hailz!

I ordered mine with the sunroof. A summer ride in the Sierras with the sunroof open and the AC OFF... is a great pleasure.

How much extra weight are we talking about? It's a hole on the top replaced with glass

30ish lbs. give or take. (or maybe trigeek above is more on point )

the argument used most often is that it is glass placed at the peak of height for the car, which is second-most detrimental, aside from unsprung. (:

I agree.....if I am going to be that serious about weight why not strip the interior, acid dip the body shell and spend gobs of money on titanium and carbon parts.......it's a road car people...sorry ("a race car for the street")

if you're talking about weight, the sunroof does not take alot of weight though. you're going to lose 1 hp every 17lbs. so it's not that bad IMHO.
