I install them all the time, are you getting the remote start one? if so, it is quite difficult if you are not familier with remote starts

In order for your car to auto start you must override the immobilizer. The one way is to get an extra key, (buy at least 1 extra key and program it yourself it is in the how to section but dont forget you must need 2 working keys can store up to 4 keys) and get the module for it. People usually file the key down so you cant use the key to start the car or if you feel lucky just put the key in the module and hide it very good. But if you have any problems with the alarm and you installed it yourself, Compustar will not warranty it or help you with it.. Also the instructions do not tell you how do some of the features of the alarm you must find out from the person you bought it from (or someone that knows how to program the alarm)

Why do you not want to leave it in gear?

Also, are you saying that when you install an alarm with a kill switch it renders the immoblizer useless?

Thanks

Haha, have you ever started your car in gear? Since you probably don't have your starter switch unplugged, I assume you always have the clutch depressed to start the car. Think what would happen if you just let the clutch out without giving it gas...

If you do the remote start with the car in gear, it will move forward and stall, but probably not before it hits something in front of it.

If you've never installed an alarm before, leave it to the professionals and have it done right.

get the dei black box that puts the key in side it and a wire comes out and wraps around the ign. I would get another set of keys programmed before you does this.

wait... so from what I'm reading around if you put that key in.. get new keys reprogrammed, those keys will still be okay, as in they will be working immobilizers keys?

I installed a Viper without remote start. Install was time consuming and labor
intensive. Works great though.
