This is most likely the reason:
The Evo has a staggering insurance claim value of 514, the highest of any car listed. Insurance companies pay attention to stuff like this and adjust their rates accordingly,

Policemans Benevolent Association.....you get them from the police....meaning you are friends or family members with a cop. They are almost like a get out of jail free card....assuming the cop isn't a dick.....
they will usually take the card and let you go for minor charges.
but the end result is no ticket.

Heck, when I lived in Indiana I got two speeding tickets in 6 months (I was 22). I did argue with a lawyer from the DAs office. Got the 72 reduced to a 56 in a 55. This was with me driving an '85 Buick Century

See, this is why you guys should jump on every a-hole who comes on here and says "just got busted for doing 128 on the freeway, what should I do?" Tell him to throw himself off a bridge! Drivers like that are making your insurance premuims sky high. The adjusters look at the evo and say "ok, if you buy one, chances are you're gonna drive like a retard, so we're gonna have to charge you more"
Of course, raising your deductibles helps a lot. Turning 23,24,25,26 depending on state helps some too. I've never heard about a discount for having your license for 6 years, but hey, take what you can get.
Anything that makes you look more stable helps, too. Getting married helps big time. A second car can actually help the first car's insurance. Buying a house help a ton.
If you only drive on the weekends, or just to racing events once a month or whatever, you can probably do this: call you adjuster and tell them that you won't be driving the car for a while, and you'd like to suspend your account. There's a monthyl fee for this, but your account stays open and you're paying less in premiums. Then, when you're going on that trip or to that race, you call you adjuster and say "alright, I need my policy actived for the weekend because I'm heading out of town" They'll confirm that the policy is active, and for what time frame (usually a little longer than you specify, since traffic sucks and you might get stuck out later than you thought). They then charge you for the time you spent using the policy. It doesn't work for everyone, but it might be another option to investigate with your carrier. This is easier to do if you have two cars

Evo, STI, SRT4 are now under a high performence catagory which makes you pay more. Their basic idea car goes fast more accidents, not only that the high repair cost on body panels and the hours to put a crashed Evo STi or SRT4 is most likey 2 times as a regular car just because of the special body pieces they used.

Im 17... my insurance is crazy Ive been driving for a year and a half, but just 2 weeks ago I got my first speeding ticket (51 mph in a 40 mph zone). It was 3 days after having my Evo, I didnt even realize I was going more than 40 (this car really takes speed well). But otherwise, no tickets or accidents.
