I brought my Evo home Saturday ..
Greets from Charleston, SC. After months of looking around I finally sold my Nissan Spec-V and got my Evo! It’s a 2003 in awesome condition with the sunroof and HIDs. I’ve been so excited the last few days, this car is unbelievable!
I found her at a CarMax, she had a perfect carfax report, and runs great! I couldn’t pass it up! I’ve been debating for a while if I should get a used one, or get a new one. Around here, I couldn’t get a new one off the lot for less then $34K – and I wanted to keep money in my budget for maintenance and modifications. In the end, a used one was the perfect fit – being a 24 year old software engineer in the southeast pays good, but it isn’t exactly the big bucks. Not to mention a used one only caused my insurance to go up $17 every 6 months.
Right now, I have about $500 a month to spare on maintenance & modification without dipping into other areas of my budget or using my credit card. How much of that should I set aside for maintenance??
GSC Motorsports is in town, so I’m going to check them out in the coming months. Has anyone out there had any experience with these guys??
Anyways, thanks for all the information – I’ve learned tons from this board.
