This is only partially true. The thermostat regulates the coolants LOWER limit but not the upper limit, which is where the Water Wetter can help. When you are hot lapping the coolant does not stay right at the 180 degrees (or whatever) that the thermostat opens at, it gets much hotter than that.

Why should I install a lower temp thermostat?

Yes, this is true. For most people while just driving on the road, our cars are very good at running consistant temp and therefore wouldnt change much from adding Water Wetter. Although if you are hot lapping, like you stated the coolant temp probably would start to rise which is where it could help. I'm not saying theres anything wrong with using it all the time as I use it myself, but dont everyone go thinking you are going to drop serious temp and gain horsepower while normal driving. Like I said, its good for extra protection but in my opinion, its probably not doing much during normal driving.

This stuff works.
I don't know how but it even keep the "stuff" from growing in the water. I used it in my watercooling PC and the water hasn't been changed in 3 years.

I'm pretty sure Waterwetter's efficacy is 6 months, which means you'll have to flush/change coolant/water much sooner than a normal schedule. I believe you must also add it to your radiator and NOT the overflow tank as it may get gummy. That said, it worked well in my previous car, and is invaluable on track days with the bike.

My take on it is:

When running 100% DI Water - the Water Wetter protects the components internals against the VERY corrosive properties of the H2O. Also changing the Molarity of pure water (lowering the waters ability to take on heat

I assumed you don't add water wetter to a coolant/water mix

we use it in our race car because the rules prohibit using anti-freeze and it works better than just straight water (duh).

i've used it. it didn't work for me. but maybe don't mix with antifreeze/coolant. water + water wetter is probably the way to go.

Yeah, I think I'll have to keep on doing it the way they do from the factory... Not sure I'm 100% comfortable using just 100%water + ww or equiv... Things change though so maybe one day...?
