EVO's with cams and custom flash

EVO's with cams and custom flash

hey guys,

just wanted to get something straight. wanted to know how much psi are cars pulling with cams and custom flash. With flash redline is at 7800rpm, till when does your boost hold 20 or 21, please state whether you have MBC or not?

My situation is my boost drops at 6k at every gear, in 2-3 gear goes low as 16 in 4-5 it is abt 17.Even though i have boost controlled flash but no MBC. just want to make sure i got a leak or is it supposed to drop at that rpm. my mods in the sig.

man then i am loosing a lot of power, do you have a MBC. also where does your vaccum sit at idle?

If you have flash-controlled boost, then there should be no taper. What you are describing sounds like factory taper, so I would first make sure that you actually have the boost control feature in that flash. Then, if you're absolutey positive, I would expect a sizable boost leak. I do not believe it's your BOV, because the stock one doesn't just dump out 3-4psi at 6k rpm in every gear.

I have an MBC that spikes to 1.5 (21.7psi) bar then settles at 1.4 (20.3psi) until redline. It did this with the stock BOV and does so with the MR BOV I have on there now.

i do know i got the boost control as i asked AL twice, i think i might have a leak cause i remember tune time it was hold 18-19 pretty good all the way to redline. i hate boost leaks they can be anywhere

Sounds like a leak. Nothing to do with the cams, flash, or tune.

Pressurize your pipes and spray soapy water on everything. I had 4 small leaks at once and lost major power.

I have Al's boost controlling flash that would spike to about 20, and then fall as low as 16, depending on the gear. Since then I have put in a manual boost controller, that is set at 22, and settles to about 21 at redline. I would start by putting in a boost controller, and see how that holds before checking for leaks, because it seems like the factory restrictor line just isn't holding well enough for you.

thanks healthynine that was what i was looking for. mine drops to 16 in like 3rd in 4-5 its like 17-18. i will be getting a MBC to check that cause even AL told me to get the mbc to help hold 20 psi when i was getting the tune byw which mbc do you have?

I have the Hallman Pro that I got from Justin at Evomoto, and I think its the best price you can get them for. I was asking Al when I got flashed again a couple weeks ago, and he was saying something about a couple of different versions of the boost flash, and he thought I just had the first version, so that may be part of it. He was saying that it changes where the boost spikes, but it doesn't really hold. But its all holding strong now...I think I just need new plugs now because of the increased boost. Hope that helps

Cool

WORKS p2 flash w/ boost control, WORKS 269 cams, Revolver springs/retainers. holds 19.5psi at redline. no MBC.

20 then 16 then 18 psi wtf

i just did a couple of runs and noticed that it peaks at 20 tapers to 16 then comes back to 18 even though i am at WOT. any ideas what might be wrong

that's weird....where about is all of this happening? I'm assuming that you hit 20 psi around 3000 or so, and then 18 at redline? and then obviously 16 somewhere in between there. The only thing I can think of is it may be a characteristic of Al's flash?

Once again tt go over the top when it comes tuning evos !!!! my first flash I end doing 289.5 whp 288.9 tq on a mustand dyno with this mods:


-hks cat back
-perrin test pipe
-act clutch with aluminun fly wheel
-3" down pipe
- hks intake
-greddy boost controller
-ralliart ground kit
-forge bov 15
-255 nitto tires
-tiens low springs
-ngn sparks plugs rs8
-dyno flash !!!!!
-walbro 255 fuel pump


I was happy but I could done better without an ebay catalic coverted I ran a 12.7 at 107 mph 60t 1.8 I did 12.9 and 1.7 60t foot with only 20psi so I'm runing 12.5 if I get to do 1.7 again on the 60t.well I wanted more hp so I bought the hks 272 cams shaft and cam gears from fidanza. tune and dayno day: base run with the cams untuned was 328.2 whp and 330.6 tq I was really happy and the best run with the cam gears -2-2 was339.3 whp and 337.9 tq..likely I didn't need that much tune but it help and also my boost controller was set wrong. so tu those number u can add 20hp since is a mustand dayno. mark ans smooke were really friendly and gave me really good advise for future upgrates so they are really cool and profecionals when it comes to evos performance.

23psi to 20 psi on al's flash with hallman mbc.

but different in all gears the boost.

yeah, hallman mbc

vaccuum sits at b/w -10 and -15psi

I need to adjust my cam gears to smooth the idle though
