I'm not quite sure about the law in every state (nor mine, California), but I've been driving my civic without a front license plate for 3 years now. No one has ever stopped me. So just leave the plate off...

plate is definitely required in california, although i tried to go the same route as you are, makku, until i got pulled over during a bbq/cruise day on pch.
slapped it on after that, and left it. there was a rumor that it was going to be a high fine for awhile there, but it is usually in the neighborhood of $15-25 for the ticket and $0-10 for the cop buy-off after.
until i live in another state, i guess i'm a reformed front plater.

I'll see you there Monday Night!
Hey Fireball!! I was gonna stop by tonight, (Friday)
But I will be there Monday night to visit you and see the car..
I am STOKED!!!
I'll have wife and kid in tow..
Make sure you talk about the SAFETY and ROOMINESS and the fact that it is a SENSIBLE car...
Not that it matters. Lets face it, it is a fricken EVO!!
God I can't wait....This reminds me, I gotta change my slogan..

I don't understand why Mitsubishi don't let people sit in the Evo for all the other auto shows except the LA one. People get a much better feel of the car once they sit in it. But I for one was not too impressed with the interior when I sat in it. I'll definitly will do some upgrades for the dash, get a mp3 cd player, and some better speakers when I get my Evo.

The Evo was placed up on some pedestal all locked up. The only thing I could get a real good look at was the lettering on the tire sidewalls.
Even the less-potent Mazdaspeed Protege was locked up.
No R32. No Touareg SUV. No WRX STi.
There were some nifty Saturns, though.

I am so frustrated. In Raleigh NC, our anual NC International Auto Expo is here this weekend and there is NO EVO at all . This sucks. I guess that's what I get for not livin' in a big metro area. I was so excited to see one a month before mine arrives...oh well.

whats up with that armrest? it appears to be the same as the regular lancer. I guess if you're 6 foot thats not going to be a problem. But I'm 6'5". The regular lancer fit fine, except for that that ****ing armrest, it was a sale killer for me, I had to shift with my elbow up at shoulder level. **** You Mitsubishi.
