most dealerships require at LEAST 10% down. if you can get in closer to the 20-30% range though it will save you the higher monthly payments. 20% down on 30k is 6k. the 9 will probably be closer to 35k + markup if you arent an experienced haggler.

one you should definately buy not lease, and two, you give no kind of detail as to what kind of money you have. if you have alot of money buy the car outright. if not put down what your able to afford.

This is what I did with my EVO VIII.. I put 15 K down and my payments came to like 4 sumthing a month for 60 months. I kept the contract for only 9 months because the interest was at 5.9% apr.. Spread over the 5 year period I would have wound up paying over 5 K in interest. So The remaining balance I transferred over to my Discover card which I got at an intro rate of 0% interest on balance transfers for the life of the transfer. Now I only owe 6K on the car and my minimum payments are like 174.00 granted I know my cars value will never fall below 6K I think Im safe just paying whatever I can a month... Now that's comfort
