<--- WE WERE SCAMMED BUY AN EVOM MEMBER :(.....

I had a guy pm me about about cams (280/280) and i told him i had them and to send payment. well he sent it like a week later so by the time he sent it we were sold out. so I pm'd him and he asked me to refund the money. I did refund it right away and all was good. a month later i got more 280's in and i figured i'd send him a pm to him to see if he was still interested. He replied and said yes he wants them and send the payment. so after he sent it i shipped them out and he got them 3-4 days later. he signed for them and everything. another month goes by and now he does a paypal chargeback. he never e-mailed me or called me saying he didnt get them. i saw his signature so I know he signed for them. i sent him e-mails, PM, everything with no responce. he never left me negative feedback or anything. just decided to do the chargeback and now we lost the $$$$. i wish people wouldnt do things like this. paypal said we're not covered under the seller protection policy which is BS because i shipped directly to his confirmed address.

THE GUYS NAME IS BRADEN JUST SO EVERYONE KNOWS. GUY ONLY HAS LIKE 5 POSTS.

I would write him a certified letter and have him sign for it saying he has 30 days to make payment or legal action will be taken. If he doesn't pay than sue him for non-payment of recieved goods verified by a signature.

Maybe something bad happened to the guy and whomever signs for the letter will fix the situation. It's worth a shot.

Sorry to hear.

Odd, last time I asked paypal to do anything for me it took weeks. I'm suprise they didn't notify you that there will be a chargeback unless xxxx happens.

I hate PayPal. Damn them.

But you should be able to clear this up. Call them until you get it resolved.

paypal has to honor the protection policy if you shipped to the confirmed address unless you dont have a confirmed paypal account yourself then you arent covered ever..however problem with paypal they often do whatever will make them not lose money..if someone pays with a credit card via paypal, paypal is the one that looses the money in a chargeback if they honor the protection policy..i would suggest you get your own merchant account if you dont have one, then you can fight chargebacks directly dealing with the banks/cc providers..

This happened to me before and I was lucky enough to be covered under the paypal seller protection plan. Up until that happened, I never knew they even had one.

Did they say why you weren't covered?

Yup. They don't protect the seller OR the buyer worth a crap. I got burned once and no longer use paypal.

What really sucks is that because I refuse to use paypal for anything, and because people buy into the myth that paypal protects buyers and sellers it makes ME look like I am a scammer because I refuse to use paypal.

I sell on ebay and have never had any problems with paypal.... I usually always transfer the money from the account to my bank account. That way I do not think they can touch the money once it is safe in your bank account. That is what a paypal rep told me atleast. That your not safe unless it is in your bank account.
