Well I quess is it fast is all relative... Its ok.... I'm in the process of rebuilding it. I purchased it after it had been involded in a small crash to the right front door. I am planing on setting it up for road corse. I know someone who has an 03' evo that has the dynoflash done. He ran in the same class as I with my Porsche. He is awsome taking off , but slow at higher speeds. He told me that it was because his was flashed for the drag strip.

there are a few ways to tell.. for starters.. do you have a boost guage installed?? if so, what are your readings at?? If your at like 18-19 and only dropping 1 or 2 psi after being in full throttle then your deff flashed... if your boost drops to 15ish psi then your not flashed..
the comment about the black smoke not being tuned is INCORRECT... you'll still have chances of BLOW BY oil such as I do myself under high boost release into vac. I am getting a oil catch can to fix the prob, but its not a way to judge being flashed or not. Mostly these flashes are fixing your boost level from fading and also no boost cut/fuel cut and also will raise your Rpm in certain flashes.

hook up an A/F meter to your car (or on a dyno) and see what it says. If it's lean, then you're definitely flashed, unless you are tuning it out yourself with an AFC. Also, if your revs aren't limited at stock level, and like 4rcd6 said your boost also. Those are the main things that people flash for... I'm flashed and I'll occasionally get black smoke on a heavy acceleration even though I'm leaned (11.x afr), so that's not a good barometer...

7400 Rpm is the stock rev limit while 7800RPM is rev limit with flash. Also you will hit boost cut off if you don't have a flash and you are pushing 22/23 PSI at redline. It happen to me

All depends on the dealership, I suppose. I haven't had any issues with mine. You could always mail the ECU to someone like Vishnu or TurboTrix and pay them to check it out.
