drop in filter question

for those of you who use a drop in filter, does the sound increase??

just get an open element. good sound, little power loss. Keep the stock MAF though until u get a tune or flash

I have HKS drop in and turbo whine is louder, but not the same as a cone filter. Still no BOV sound, too bad.

I added a K&N drop-in a couple weeks ago and didnt notice any difference in sound, from inside the car anyway.
