how to get the CEL codes from the car?

With my SRT-4 I could get my codes simply by turning the ignition to ON-OFF three times and the code would come up in the odometer. On my Dodge Omni it flashes the CEL the number of times for the code.

Does this work on the Evo?

I wish that answered my question.

I guess I'll go to Autozone, then.

If you are going to mod your car or something , get yourself one of those obd2 scanner. I got one the orange colored ones for ~$70 from autozone and I have it in the glove box.

yea its always wise to have one when your modding, your going to be going back and forth between autozone and it will be a pain. Invest in getting the obd2 scanner.
