'05 Evo vs. full-size Dodge truck?!
The other day I was telling my neighbor across the street a little about the Evo. In particular, I told her that its 0-60 time was under 5 seconds. She wasn't impressed. She said that I could take my Evo and she could take her truck, get on the freeway, and she would "take me and anybody else on the road". Before you fall out of your chair in a fit of laughter, her truck is a full-size 4WD monster with a V-10 Dodge engine in it (at least 6 liters). Its about 5 years old, and is not the new Dodge Ram SRT-10. So it got me thinking. Her truck has at least 450 HP and a ton of torque. Is there any way that she could be correct? Would she prevail in a 1/4 mile pull from a roll? From a stop? Would it be close? My Evo is bone stock. I didn't say anything, but just nodded politely. Any thoughts?

There is no way she is going to beat you. Unless she can defy the laws of physics that is. That truck must weigh at least 5K lbs not to mention the aerodynamics of a wall... I say race her for sex (if she is hot that is)

I've seen some insanely fast diesels (heavily modified of course) and some modified Lightnings that could take an evo. Even an SRT-10 should lose to a stock evo assuming both drivers are equal. You should offer to race her for money.

Well, I never intended to race her since I'm rather fond of my driver's license. I just wanted to know, in theory, if she was correct. And no, she's not hot. She's 40-something, overweight, has a moustache, and smokes. Thanks for the input everyone. I can sleep better knowing that I'm king of the road (at least in this neighborhood).
