Where to learn about Turbos etc.

First off, I apologize if I am asking a question that already has been answered. If so please just direct me to where I would find this info. I have been looking on the board and there is a lot of information about upgrades with regards to the turbo, and upping the boost etc. Well the issue I have is that most of the information I am finding seems to be on the assumption that you have a base knowledge of turbos, how they work and the various accessories. So I was hoping that someone may know of either a web resource where I could read up and learn, or even a book that I could read. I would also be open to reading any previous threads that may have useful basic information. Thanks for any help.

Jim

Jim, I would start here, http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbobygarrett/tech_center/turbo_tech101.html for the basics and read through 103. It will give you a pretty good understanding of turbos. Corky Bell's book, Maximum Boost , though a little dated, is another good resource for basic information.

Yes- Read Maximum Boost by Corky Bell!!! I used to own one of his kits and have probably spent 50 hours on the phone with him. He's like the turbo Godfather.
