HKS Kansai carbon air box help please!

Hi I am looking at getting the HKS Kansai air box through a friend in japan relitavly cheap, and I was going to use it with the HKS racing suction kit, but I have now heard that the two don't work together and you need a special HKS Kansai air intake system. Can anyone confirm this for me? I would love to get this air box, but the Kansai intake system is 3 times the priced of just the Racing suction kit and I don't want to spend that much.

Try contacting lot-usa.com, they're distributors for HKS kansai so they'll be able to answer your question.

Also If I remember correctly you will need to trim that to make it fit, which is kinda lame considering the cost.

I think I have heard that you need to trim it for the US version Evo 8 as the air bag sensor or something is in the way. Its the same for the JDM RS version.
However for my JDM GSR I THINK I can get away with it. Thats why I'm asking the people here for help

I have the Kansai airbox and have yet to install it due to fitment issues with the airbag sensor, stock battery tray, the frame rail, and the active center diff. tank.

It will require quite a bit of trimming that I just don't care to deal with right now.

Once I have some time to devote to it, I'd love to finally get it installed.

sorry mike.. wheres the acd tank?? its not anywhere near my airbox (if theres one)

all the piping kits and suction pipes should work.. the duct is the same location as stock only slightly bigger..

the kansai website did say the RS will have issues as the airbag sensor is in the way..
