So it gets the cooler, relatively speaking, air from down below. Not to mention it gets fresh air from being in front.
on hot days I pack the i/c sprayer full of ice from one of those self serve beverage counters at a fast food joint. save 10 hp e-z.

Don't run the AC. That sluggishness you feel is probably from running the AC in hot weather. I have driven the car with the AC on and 4 passengers. Didn't feel as peppy.
