its the Best Motoring June 2005 issue.
All the test were done on in the rain.
Evo 9 RS 0-200m=8.367 and 0-400m=13.270
Evo 9 GSR 0-200m=8.690 and 0-400=13.440
STI C spec 0-200m=8.533 0-400m 13.503
STI regular version I think 0-200=8.767 and 0-400m=13.683
Rolling race from 30km-200m
Evo 9 RS vs Evo 8MR RS.
They started from low rpms, I think it was 3rd gear by looking at the stick shift location. When the 3k rpm hit the Evo 9 pulled ahead slightly and at the end of the 200m race the 8 was by the 9's rear tires. The 9 almost beat it by 1 car lenght.
Evo 9 RS vs STI C spec
Same race at 3rd gear from 30km-200m
Viewing from the STI's cockpit both cars were dead even up until 3k rpm, after that the 9 pulled ahead and when the STI hit 5.3k rpm the Evo 9 had jumped 1 car lenght on it. By the 200m mark the C spec was 1 and half car lenght behind.
5 lap Tsukuba battle (spelling)... again wet road with little rain.
Starting grid
1.Evo 9 RS
2.Evo 9 GSR
3.STI C spec
4.STI
During the start the 9 RS and C spec were runing together up front in the first few turns. On the start the C spec jumped in front of the GSR. By lap 1 The RS was in front of the C spec by about 3-4 cars. The GSR was in front of the STI by about 2-3 cars. It was more of a 2 and 2 race with the RS and C spec going at it in front and the GSR with the STI chasing it down. By every lap the RS would pull more on the C spec and the GSR would get closer also. At the finish line the RS was at least 10 car lengths ahead of the C spec and the GSR was about 2 cars lenght behind the C pec. The STI ended up about 10-12 car behind the GSR. In the begining the C spec had a bigger gap on the GSR but towards the end the GSR was clearly cathcing up and the gap got closer from about 6 down to 2 cars lenght. BTW viewing from the C spec's cockpit in the long straights you could clearly see the RS walking away from it
Battle Results
Best Lap Total
1. 9 RS 1'10"14 5'57"49
2. C spec 1'11"04 6'00"82 +3"33
3. GSR 1'10"65 6'01"21 +3"72
4. STI 1'11"25 6'04"53 +7"04
