that sounds like a rubbing issue.

Like Webguy330 said... Are you lowered? Also when you check the wheel wells see if the tire has been gouged... also check the edges of the fenders on the inside, has the paint been rubbed off? How big is the gap between tire and fender?

To begin this thread, you need to post your spec of your tires and wheel size my friend.

I don't know on the evo but on my 03 wrx you can upgrade steering rack bushings for $30 and it made a pretty big difference, does the evo have something similar?

i'm not lowered..it sounds more internal..sorry my tire size is same as stock 235/45/17 and i'm pretty sure its not a rubbing sound. I have tried a few tire pressures ranging from 33f/31r to 40f/38r and it doesnt seem to help the mushy feeling I get and yes the sound is only from the front and the only thing I can think of other than something being actually wrong with my steering is that the treads are so tall that I'm getting flex but other people with these same tires say that they feel really good sooo that brings me back to it possibly being a problem with the car itself...

Otherwise might be sidewall / edge tread blocks rolling over ... only from the front right?

Have you confirmed your pressures are all correct (cold readings)?

Well you can always have a shop/dealership check it out, where are you located? You may have a fubared suspension component or something. Seriously though, you can't expect someone else's subjective view of these tires to coincide with yours, especially given that you recognize the superiority of the a046.

ok so I just had my friend who drives an unmodded prelude drive my car and even he said it feels like ****..so theres definitely something wrong..the thing is I know I have to bring it to the dealer, HOWEVER, I know that if i dont go in there with an idea of what the problem is they're just going to go "the evo makes noises its normal...and nothing seems loose so its fine" when I know that somethings wrong because I drive it everyday and normal turns that I used to be able to take hard and safely feel dangerous to me now...so help me pleaseeeee could it be struts, springs, steering bushings...etc.?? the one thing I LOVED about this car when i first got it was its awesome steering and handling and now its the one thing I hate about this car

So take it in and tell them that. Tell them it feels sloppy going around corners and you're afraid your going to lose control of the car and slide into a minivan full of little kids. That might make them take some action to avoid litigation.

It might be an alignment issue. It's really hard to do long distance diagnoses. Or ask around for someone who really knows alignments and take it to them.

thats awesome...i think i will tell them that haha...my dealer is pretty nice but they're just not "evo" smart..i'm pretty sure they dont know much difference between it and any other 4 door car..as long as they dont charge me for diagnosis I guess it doesnt hurt to take it in..

It pretty much is.

:::Warning, do not do what I did:::

I managed to get a large nail (3") in the sidewall of my A046's at around 5k miles. Enjoying the greatness that is the A046 I did not want to put anything else on, but I didn't have $212 to blow either. I plugged the hole with 3 yes THREE, tire plugs. It was a total bltch to squeeze them all in there, but I did. I used that tire on the rear of the car for the next 7k miles of aggressive driving, and even 2 autoX weekends (Don't ever do this, I used to park with the plug down so tech never caught me). It held up great until the end when the stress of the plug started to tear the sidewall vertically north and south of the plug.
